How to distribute TFRC postcards effectively in your workplace

This briefing is for TFRC supporters who have ordered postcards to distribute. If you have not yet ordered any please fill in this form https://bit.ly/41EpJTx

Postcards: a ‘how to’ guide

It is essential that Time For Real Change gets its message out about UNISON’s NEC elections in workplaces, directly with members. Distribution of postcards is an important part of our strategy, to win these elections and to go on and transform our union.

When we use the term ‘postcards’, this is because this year we have gone for a smaller-sized leaflet which is more akin to a postcard than a leaflet. It is A6 size (not A5) and made of thicker card (not flimsier paper).

Key facts about this election

NEC elections come round once every two years and are due to start on Monday 21 April. Members vote by returning their ballot forms in the reply-paid envelope, both of which will be sent with the election booklets to members’ home addresses.

The deadline to vote by is Wednesday 21 May, so there is plenty of time to help with distributing postcards.

What to do

  • You can help hugely by distributing these postcards in your workplace.

  • Please hand them out personally.

  • This can be done in your own workplace, or outside a workplace e.g. at a building entrance point, so long as done safely and without obstructing access.

  • Use word of mouth conversations wherever possible to explain why it is so important to vote for TFRC candidates when you distribute the postcards.

  • If you are left with any spare postcards, please leave small numbers in communal work areas like the work staff room or kitchen.

  • Please though try to give out the leaflets as close to the period 18-23 April as you can.

📬 Order postcards – If you haven’t requested any postcards yet or want to request more, please fill in the form here https://bit.ly/41EpJTx
